Second Life or The New Real Life
It started as a form of entertainment. Just another web game. This game was a way to access a virtual world of living the rich American Dream in whatever way you wanted. It was virtual so anything you wanted became yours! The virtual world has actually become a method of testing entrepreneurs talents and helping the disabled. This "game" is a way for people to overlook or not even notice the disabled people's problems. Social skills or physical looks are not even a problem when it comes to the virtual world. A project called live2give was created by nine adults with cerebral palsy so that they would have a chance to talk with others who take things in life for granted. This website was a much greater success then the game developer ever imagined it would be. The game is not only a second life, but a first life for many. It has given great opportunities to many individuals who would've lived a life void of hope and success. This virtual world is an example of success in networking.
Growing Up Online
The pbs web video discussed teens growing up with networking. Networking is a major advance in the world of technology. Access is available to all ages. Young children, teens and adults are all on the web. Some of the popular sites are myspace, facebook, twitter, youtube and blogspot. Teens are saying they are able to be who they really are on the web. Despite this leap it also is composed of many possible negative or challenging components. One of the dangerous challenges of these website pages is hidden identities. A young boy committed suicide by receiving information on suicide from a "friend" on the Internet. After this boy's death his father was never even able to determine who this friend really was. Autumn Edows was a girl suffering from loneliness in school. She had enough of her boring life and decided the web was a way to create a new identity. Fortunately she was caught and her life was saved before anything tragic happened. The problem was the information she posted was provocative and false. Autumn Edows didn't even exist! All sorts of clubs and information are shared with friends that people never even met. It's dangerous to have so many people be your "friend". These people might really be murderers, pedophiles, robbers or even four times your age. Although networking is a major part of our culture and it has taken us far we must be careful what we and our future generations are doing on the Internet.
It is necessary to educate and promote awareness of Internet dangers. Parents must set up some sort of a system that works for them to be aware of their children's Internet access. Whether it is setting a time limit or monitoring the child's Internet access. Be careful!

Obama and Social Networking
What was the success of Obama's campaign? Obama thought of a brilliant strategy to gain popularity. Obama created a webpage called MyBO. The website enabled easy access to media, information and campaign donations. This webpage gained him hundreds of volunteers and brought lots of money to his campaign. "He created the ultimate online political machine." Obama also used other sites on the web including youtube to post videos. The amount of popularity gained by networking was proof to the acceleration of networking in America. Social networking was a very smart technique to use in this modern world of buzzing technology. Never will a political campaign exist without the use of social networking and further networking advances.
